We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Data Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives through requirements gathering, complex data analysis, and governance efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen paired with a deep understanding of data lifecycle management, data quality, and relational database systems. This is a business- and data-focused role, not a development or DBA position.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements.
Write clear, concise business requirements and user stories in JIRA, working within an Agile delivery framework.
Conduct data profiling, identify data quality issues, and provide actionable insights.
Perform complex SQL queries (joins, sub-queries, unions) to support data analysis, validation, and aggregation.
Analyze and document data flows, process flows, and data lineage to support transparency and traceability.
Participate in data governance activities, including data controls, issue remediation, and metadata documentation.
Assess existing business processes and workflows, recommending improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Coordinate cross-functional work efforts and support project planning and management activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a similar role.
Strong SQL skills with experience in Teradata or similar RDBMS platforms.
Proven experience in requirements gathering, writing business requirements, and data documentation.
Experience with data quality, data validation, data integration, and data governance concepts.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Critical thinker with the ability to understand complex data environments and identify trends, gaps, or anomalies.
