Job Summary

The Business Intelligence & Data Solutions Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing business intelligence reporting and automated data solutions in support of the BP&S department. This role focuses on transforming data into actionable insights, improving reporting performance, and streamlining business processes through automation. The position partners closely with internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly analytics and workflow solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards with an emphasis on accuracy, performance, and end-user experience.
  • Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric to ensure clean, accurate, and timely data delivery.
  • Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, integrations, and ETL processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor automated workflows using Power Automate, including:
    • Data refresh and process automation
    • Scheduled notifications and alerts
    • Approval workflows and business process automation
    • Integration with Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Forms, Dataverse)
  • Collaborate with analysts, business owners, and cross-functional partners to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable BI and automation solutions.
  • Establish and follow best practices for data modeling, governance, documentation, version control, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, SQL transformations, Power BI reports, and Power Automate workflows.
  • Research and evaluate new tools and technologies to continuously improve analytics and automation capabilities within the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, row-level security, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses or dataflows.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries using joins, CTEs, indexing, and query tuning techniques.
  • Proficiency in Power Automate, including building cloud, approval, and scheduled flows from the ground up.
  • Ability to integrate workflows across Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and modern data architecture.
  • Experience with Azure data and analytics tools.
  • Understanding of API integrations and custom connectors in Power Automate.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, analytics, or automation-related roles.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
