Job Title: Data Analyst
Reports to: Executive Director of Continuous Improvement
Dept/School: Continuous Improvement Department / Central Administration
Work Year: 226 days
Base Salary: $69,000 *Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Analyze and report data on a districtwide basis and serve as a resource to administrative personnel in expanding their use of data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, information technology, statistics, or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, a high level of reasoning capability, and pay close attention to detail and accuracy
Strong relationship management skills and ability to work in a collaborative setting
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience or knowledge of the K-12 education system
Familiarity with education software systems (eSchool, Eduphoria) and knowledge of K-12 assessments preferred
Demonstrated skill in analytical reasoning and/or background in research, spreadsheets, and databases
Aptitude for identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies in quantitative data
Conceptual understanding of and experience with relational databases preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
3+ years of experience in education, computer science, information technology, statistics, or related field
Experience manipulating data and developing reports
Experience in statistical modeling preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Support District leadership in making evidence-based decisions by gathering, organizing, and assisting in the interpretation of data.
Extract, validate, analyze, and visualize data from District databases.
Respond to data requests by assessing customer needs and preparing appropriate reports.
Assist districtwide administrative personnel with troubleshooting and development of spreadsheet solutions.
Develop and conduct training on how to work with District data tools and/or trainings to support District data related needs.
Collaboratively work with District personnel to identify and resolve issues with data integrity.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
