Position Title: Data Analyst

Β 

The Digital Strategy and Business Process Optimization (DS & BPO) department oversees the operational system data within our ERP and surrounding systems and helps support the ongoing management and improvements within the ERP environment. Β The Data Analyst will assist the DS & BPO department with day-to-day tasks around system implementation and maintenance, data management, data analytics, and ongoing upgrade support as well as any future implementation and integration activities. Position is full-time, up to 40 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Develop and maintain key data and data design in SAP (Material Master, Bill of Materials, Recipes, Resource, Purchasing-Info Records and Warehousing) and associated systems
  • Manage and update key data as required within the systems include managing user access following applicable SOPsΒ 
  • Develop and implement data quality controls, reporting, and audits to uphold data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Perform testing on data and access on at least a quarterly basis as required by the business.
  • Support creation and migration activities by extracting, cleansing, loading, and validating master data across systems.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials
  • Ensure global data consistency and conformance to SOPs while managing master data updates due to process or system changes.
  • Serve as a key member of the SAP Implementation Project Team during the greenfield site construction/startup phase.
  • Contribute to global initiatives for Master Data Management, as required, and attend select Power User forums to share best practices with peers
  • Generate data analysis including metrics and Pareto analyses as requested by the business
  • Drive process improvement initiatives which could include developing process flows for setup of new materials, updating SOPs to improve efficiency, and leveraging appropriate tools/reports to track maintenance efforts, data accuracy, and data completeness
  • Troubleshoot SAP, system integrations, and surrounding systems issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
  • Investigate deviations and provide impact assessments for change management
  • Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices
  • Provide input and support on future phases of the digital strategy and implementation of new technologies
  • Maintain a state of compliance (learning plan, SOP adherence, etc.)

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • BS Data Science, Computer Science, or related field with 1 – 3 years of relevant experience; or equivalent education and experience.Β 
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (macros, advanced functions) and BI tools; programming experience in VBA or Python is an asset.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining clean, reliable data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to promote and influence data governance best practice.
  • A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence and scalable data and analytics processes.
  • Experience with life sciences data and/or manufacturing systems is a plus.
