Data Analyst

Fairwinds Technologies is looking a Data Analyst to perform deep analysis of data and determine the best approach to represent it visually to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance best courses of action to remedy errors in data.Β 

Support Given:

  • Ensure quality assurance, process documentation, and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met when developing reports.Β 
  • With little oversight, resolve complex problems in data and present solutions.Β 
  • Upon request, or reoccurrence, acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses complex data systems in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests.
  • Create reports for analyzing and presenting data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Examines quality of data, applications, and functions.
  • Ensure deliverables are free of error and submitted timely.
  • Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
  • Support and use database applications and analytical tools for the distribution of contractual documentation.
  • Create and maintain views into data sets to provide visualization of data analysis.Β 
  • Prepare daily/period reports and dashboards to communicate outcomes of data analyst activities.Β 
  • Integrate, configure, apply, and troubleshoot methods and software that mine and analyze data.Β 
  • Utilize your strong analytical skills to collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify data inconsistencies, and propose data cleansing strategies.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with leadership and stakeholders on status of data deliverables and how issues are best rectified.
  • Collaborate with peers, to include Engineers, Quality Control Management, Safety Management, Configuration Management, and Logistics Team to determine areas of improvement in relation to data gathering, data interpretation, and document production.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management or Data Analytics and 4 years of experience in data analytics, data quality control or data management.Β 
  • 6+ years of experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Active Secret or higher DoD Security Clearance, prior to hire.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on analytical and data visualization best practices.
  • Ability to convert hypotheses into clear action items and focus on results using critical thinking skills.
  • Prior experience converting analytic results into reports and presenting them to peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly build tables, charts, etc., for data representation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DoD documents, policies, and procedures (i.e., CDRL, DID, MIL-STD, etc.)
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and tactical weapons systems.
  • Experience with uploading deliverables in Government databases is a plus.

Location

This position is Hybrid,Β local to our Aberdeen Proving Ground Office, 3 days weekly, in the office. Full-time onsite attendance will be required during peak contractual upticks or as business need arises.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time, exempt position.Β 

40-hour work week.Β 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be a U.S citizen.Β 

Must have an active Government security clearance of at least the Secret level.
