Excellent communication Skills are requiredΒ 

ResponsibilitiesΒ 

β€’ Works closely with Business Analysts and end users to help transform business requirements into technical β€œBlue Prints” to build enterprise reporting applications.Β 

β€’ Work with senior members of the EDM team to expand Data Warehouse functional areas.Β 

β€’ Communicates physical database designs to Database Administrators, ETL and BI-Report Developers.Β 

β€’ Evolves data models to meet new and changing business requirements.Β 

β€’ Maintains technical documentation and captures both technical and business enterprise level meta-data into various Data Dictionary repositories.Β 

β€’ Creates Data Architecture models and artifacts that are used to communicate data designs to a wide variety of corporate stakeholdersΒ 

β€’ Follow Data Model management standards while utilizing ErWin 9.5 to maintain Logical, and Physical data models.Β 

β€’ Works jointly with ETL developers to map source system(s) data to Data Warehouse models.Β 

β€’ Spearhead data modeling processes and maintain a consistent approach.


Qualifications:Β 

β€’ A working knowledge of Kimball type data architectural principles along with dimensional and relational data modeling techniquesΒ 

β€’ 5+ Years experience using common data modeling tools like Embarcadero and Erwin.Β 

β€’ Expert-level knowledge of relational data models along with normalization concepts that impact application performance for large multi-terabyte sized databases.Β 

β€’ Strong working knowledge of database architectures such as Teradata, DB2 and various Appliance based technologies within the Data Warehouse space, working with DBAs to ensure that physical data models are optimized for the platform they are being deployed toΒ 

β€’ Strong working knowledge of ETL processes to help ensure the alignment of physical model designs with data loading activities.Β 

β€’ An understanding of BI Tool capabilities as well as the major differences between OLAP, ROLAP and ad-hoc reportingΒ 

β€’ Strong SQL skills to profile source system data while validating data modeling design assumptions.
