Description of Work

The Admin Officer I/Data Specialist supports the needs of the Early Education Branch by providing support for the EEB, which includes the NC Pre-K Program, the Early Educator Support and Workforce Education. The EEB Administrative Officer I/Data Specialist is responsible for researching and gathering data to inform presentations, reports; developing BK teacher licensure reports; problem-solving WORKS data system issues, reviewing and providing technical assistance on NC Pre-K KIDS and APP systems, and conducting research using various databases (BK Licensure HRMS, NC Pre-K Plan System (Plan, KIDS, APP) and others as applicable to the work expected of the EEB. This position will work in collaboration with the Data Coordinator on certain or assigned tasks as required.

Salary Range: $45,431 - $79,504

Recruitment Range: $45,431 - $54,281

  • Knowledge and experience analyzing and interpreting data to inform decisions as they relate to the effectiveness and proficiency of policies, procedures and practices.
  • Possess analytical skills such as perception, evaluation, assessment and judgment to identify and address existing or potential problems, make recommendations and resolve more complex issues in collaboration with senior management to develop and initiate innovations and solutions.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing and gathering data to assist with preparing presentations and written reports for training, meetings and other events or requests.
  • Experience in using varied methods of technology such as webinars, phone conferences, PowerPoint presentations as well as diagrams/charts, written documents and handouts.
  • Technical experience, knowledge and understanding of applicable business information systems, testing methodologies, training, business system analysis, and/or other related early childhood systems.

This position is 100% federally funded.

The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina.
