    Reports To: Executive Director of Information Technology
    Hourly Pay Range:  $21.31 - $33.34

    PURPOSE:
    The Data Specialist plays a critical role in advancing the district’s mission through effective data use. This position oversees data collection, integration, and interpretation across multiple systems to support instructional improvement, operational efficiency, and compliance reporting. The data specialist ensures data accuracy, develops dashboards and systems, provides insights to inform district decisions, and guides best practices in data governance.  

    EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

     
    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in data management and information systems.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and other relevant software.
    • Familiarity with educational data systems (e.g., Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems).
    Experience:
    • Experience in a K-12 school district or educational environment.
    • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring data structures.
    • Familiarity with state reporting systems and complaint standards.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware systems and peripherals
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical data use principles.
