JWCH is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team and help support our rapidly growing organization. This position is based at our corporate office and is part of our Behavioral Health Department, with a primary focus on our case management programs.

The role requires advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, and other databases. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of macros, pivot charts/tables, queries, filters, and data analysis in a health care setting. Experience using web-based data portals, SFTPs, and writing/running Next-Gen queries is also required.

Position Purpose:
The Data Analyst is responsible for developing, collecting, reporting, and tracking encounter and quality outcome data using the Next-Gen EHR, i2iTracks/HEDIS measures, and health plan reports. Upon request, this position will implement and maintain data and recurring reports for ECM (Enhanced Care Management), Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and HIV programs. The analyst will also create dashboards that utilize data stores for both internal and external stakeholders.

Working with cross-functional teams, the Data Analyst will also support other programs, including ECM, Administration, and Finance, with data reports such as Capitation and FFS Reconciliation reports, monthly dashboards, and provider productivity reports. The analyst will analyze and clarify reporting requirements, make recommendations, and provide guidance to ensure reports meet business needs. This role will also maintain internal controls and reference materials to ensure data quality.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Collect, report, and track encounter and outcome data from Next-Gen, i2i, and other health plan data systems for ECM, Behavioral Health, HIV, SUD, Finance, and Administration.
  2. Mine data from primary and secondary sources and reorganize it into formats that can be easily understood by users.
  3. Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, with an emphasis on trends and patterns that support diagnostic and predictive analytics.
  4. Demonstrate the significance of work within the context of local, national, and global healthcare trends.
  5. Prepare reports for Department Directors and Executive Leadership that effectively communicate patterns, trends, and predictions using relevant data.
  6. Collaborate with programmers, IT, and leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend system modifications, and develop data governance policies.
  7. Create clear documentation to ensure stakeholders understand the data analysis process and can replicate it when needed.
  8. Develop and maintain reference materials, such as data dictionaries, codebooks, and report specifications.
  9. Design and maintain business intelligence dashboards.
  10. Apply a design-thinking approach to deliver insightful, clear, and user-centered data visualizations tailored to specific audiences.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years of experience as a data analyst in a healthcare setting.
  3. Advanced proficiency in Excel, Access, and other database tools.
  4. Training and experience with the NextGen Electronic Health Record system.
  5. Experience with i2iTracks database preferred.
  6. Knowledge of federal, state, and local funding mechanisms for healthcare services.
