SUMMARYΒ 
The Data Specialist provides comprehensive litigation support, electronic discovery (eDiscovery), and data management services to litigation teams at the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO). This position requires advanced knowledge of eDiscovery platforms, a strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle, and hands-on technical capabilities in data analysis, document management, and electronic document review.Β 


KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Β 

  • Provide litigation consulting services including early case assessment, ESI collection, processing, review, and production.Β 
  • Advise litigation teams on use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) tools and support trial preparation and presentation.Β 
  • Perform hands-on manipulation, conversion, and loading of electronic files.Β 
  • Coordinate with client agencies to collect, preserve, and produce ESI for investigations and legal discovery.Β 
  • Prepare and load data into eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, IPRO Eclipse SE, CaseMap, TimeMap).Β 
  • Review ESI for completeness and integrity; identify and resolve data gaps.Β 
  • Assist in creating searchable PDFs and organizing paper/native files for litigation support systems.Β 
  • Utilize advanced AI tools and databases to conduct document searches.Β 
  • Provide support for setting up and training on trial presentation software (e.g., TrialDirector).Β 
  • Support creation of review sites and generate reports, logs, and summaries from litigation support systems.Β 
  • Assist in transferring data across platforms and extracting metadata and structured information.Β 


EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:Β 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (3 additional years of directly relevant experience may substitute).Β 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation support or electronic discovery.Β 
  • Experience in government legal environments or top eDiscovery vendors preferred.Β 
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in data analysis, file types, metadata handling, and litigation lifecycle stages.Β 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:Β 

  • Proficiency in Relativity, Nuix, IPRO Eclipse, CaseMap, Cloud Nine Law, TrialDirector, and other eDiscovery platforms.Β 
  • Strong understanding of discovery and litigation processes.Β 
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure.Β 
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.Β 
  • Capable of delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.Β 
  • Strong customer service orientation, including end-user support and training.Β 
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.Β
