Data Specialist I

JOB SUMMARY

The Data Specialist I will collect and review data for a specified business project.  Once provided, the Data Specialist I will QA, verify, and organize the data.  This position supports the research, development, and operations of the company through data gathering, analysis, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Data transfer from paper or online sources.
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Review data issues providing specific details
• Partner with subject-matter experts to validate accuracy and consistency of data

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Basic-level experience with MS Excel
• Basic proficiency online search systems
• GIS experience strongly desired
• Proficiency in data entry
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed for project completion and to coordinate with offshore teams
• Strong focus and attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment
• Flexibility to work on additional un-related projects

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in data analysis highly preferred
