Job Summary

The Engineering Data Specialist supports the global Design and Drafting team by improving how engineering data is structured, accessed, and utilized across the organization. This role works closely with the Director of Design Engineering to enhance process efficiency, documentation practices, and data reliability while contributing to technical design workflows. The position requires a balance of data management, process development, and hands-on support of engineering activities.

Essential Functions

  • Develop a strong understanding of SaniSure’s product lines and their categorization within internal data systems.
  • Maintain and manage centralized documentation repositories (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams) with attention to access control, version history, and consistency.
  • Support engineering change control by applying knowledge of BOM structures and product configuration practices.
  • Cleanse, validate, and organize product data to ensure consistency and reliability across systems.
  • Build and maintain dashboards (primarily in Power BI) to track engineering metrics and drawing performance trends.
  • Assist in the review and modification of 2D engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Participate in daily manufacturing meetings to gather feedback, monitor production issues, and connect insights to drawing performance and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to implement improvements to data workflows and documentation standards.
  • Write SOPs and work instructions to formalize best practices.
  • Partner with IT and internal stakeholders on data models, version control, and change management processes.
  • Support test case development and execution during process or system changes.

Performs additional job duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical), Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related STEM field.

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • Interest in engineering and manufacturing, with a desire to learn about the single-use bioprocessing product sector through data.
  • Experience with data organization, cleansing, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and explaining technical processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SyteLine preferred) and/or Product Data Management (PDM) platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data processing tools.
  • Experience with technical drawings and bill of material structures.
  • Exposure to SolidWorks or other CAD platforms.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Agile project management tools.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and version control principles.
  • Background in web/dashboard design or document systems administration.
