Job Description

 

Job Title:              Financial Analyst (Income Desk)

Department:      Operations

Reports To:         VP, Underwriting

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Financial Analyst’s duties include a combination of income documentation review, customer service, and support to the Sales and Operations divisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Underwriting, Account Executives, and third-party vendors.
  • Review for completeness and confirm borrower qualifying income based on review of bank statements, tax returns, paystubs, 1099’s and other income documentation as needed.
  • Preparation of worksheets that are used by a wide audience.
  • Gather documentation if missing from the package at submission.
  • Certain administrative duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Knowledge of financial statements: bank statements, cash flow analysis, profit, and loss statements, 1099, W2, 1040, etc.
  • Excel, Word, and Outlook knowledge and experience.
  • Real estate finance and accounting knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work well within a group setting.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take on new responsibilities.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
     

EXPERIENCE:

  • Recent mortgage banking company or related financial institution a plus

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is in an office setting with computer and general office equipment. The position requires the ability to move freely around within the department and other department locations
