SUMMARY OF WORK:Β 


Partnering with the Fundraising and Marketing Team, the Fundraising Data Specialist will assist the team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s donor database, including data input and output, data maintenance, and be a knowledge base/support for staff. Β This position will be a point of contact to provide support to organizational leadership by assisting them with the creation of reports, lists and other data information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Β 

Donor Database Maintenance and Reporting (60%)

  • Maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate, complete dataΒ 
  • Routinely enter gifts that come from all sources
  • Ensure records are updated with new donor information according to organizational standards
  • Drive record clean-up to allow for better use of software capabilities
  • Aid with research, reports and monthly analytics
  • Take initiative to learn and be a database expert and resource for other staff
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure reconciliation between the donor database and accounting
  • Assist Director of Marketing and Communications with the creation of address lists and execution of mailings, including both individualized and large mailings

Assist with Event Planning and Execution (30%)

  • Manage and track data related to events, including RSVP lists and/or guest response
  • Work evening events as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team-several evenings each year.
  • Assist with analytics, gift processing and other data needs after the event conclusion

Other Duties (10%)

  • In conjunction with the Event Coordinator, assist in the execution of the donation acknowledgement process
  • Serve as a member of Fundraising Committee and assist as needed
  • Support the efforts to increase revenue to achieve team annual fundraising goal
  • Other duties, as assigned

Β 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong internal and external customer service skills
  • 2 years' experience writing and running reports from CRM, preferably Blackbaud-RE
  • Comfortable learning new technology platforms and databases
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Understanding of basic fundraising and development principles
  • Must be confident in organizational ability and have the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be able to perform duties in a discreet and confidential manner

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required if experience in databases/ CRM is present
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Must have prior experience with Raiser’s Edge, Donor Perfect or other donor CRM software from a reporting and data integrity perspective
  • Work experience showing dedication, consistency, teamwork and leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion while managing confidential information
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Required Schedule

  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week based on the need, typically between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
  • Some evenings may be required for special events; ample notice will be given
