    Job Title:  Migrant Education Data Specialist
    Payment Rate:  In accordance with the USD 443 Salary Schedule - Hourly Salary Range:  $18.30 - $30.50
    Evaluation & Benefits: In accordance with the USD 443 Classified Handbook
    FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
    Reports To: Associate Superintendent of Student & Family Engagement
    PURPOSE: The Migrant Education Data Specialist maintains and manages all data management systems related to Migrant Education services.
    EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

     
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate’s degree or college training preferred.
    • Bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
    Experience:
    • One year of related data management experience preferred but not required.
    • Experience regarding functions, resources, and materials related to the position.
    • Experience of computer operations and applications, including word processing,
      spreadsheets, databases and comprehensive information management systems.
    • Information management and technical skills to effectively use technology resources.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
    • Effective office and human relations skills, including telephone skills and interacting with
      parents, students, staff, and the public.
    • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and be able to make independent decisions.
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting software; database software; Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
    • Problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Ability to attend to details and maintain confidentiality.
    • Communicate in a professional manner with staff, students and the public.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Maintain comprehensive data and information systems related to Migrant Education services, including local, state, and federal databases.
    • Lead staff training on Migrant Education databases.
    • Coordinate and provide training on the identification and recruitment of Migrant families.
    • Generate, organize, and analyze information related to Migrant Education Services.
    • Coordinate the referral processes for the identification and recruitment of Migrant families.
    • Provide support in the coordination of Migrant Education Family/Student/Community events.
    • Support the philosophy and vision of the Student & Family Engagement Program.
    • Continue personal professional growth, and share related information, materials and strategies with instructional and administrative staff.
    • React positively to change.
    • Respond effectively and efficiently to other tasks as assigned.
       
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

     
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear.
    • Requires extended periods of time at a computer terminal for manual data entry and
      viewing computer.
    • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • The work environment is in an office setting.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
