Job Title: PACS Business Analyst

Job Summary:

The PACS Analyst is responsible for analyzing, configuring, and optimizing the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to support efficient imaging workflows and ensure high-quality data management. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing system analyses, and collaborating with radiologists, technologists, and IT staff to enhance system performance and integration. The PACS Analyst will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Job Objectives:

β€’ Establishes and maintains positive peer, leadership and customer relationship, interacting positively and productively with teams across organizational lines.

β€’ Analyze PACS system performance and identify areas for improvement.

β€’ Provide technical support for PACS-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network problems.

β€’ Provide technical support and training to radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals using the PACS system.

β€’ Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, patches, and software installations.

β€’ Perform regular audits of data to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

β€’ Assist in managing data migration and integration with other healthcare systems (e.g., RIS, EHR).

β€’ Ensure that the PACS system adheres to relevant healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).

β€’ Monitor security protocols to safeguard imaging data against unauthorized access or breaches.

β€’ Assist in PACS-related projects, including system upgrades, expansions, and new implementations.

β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met and timelines are adhered to.

β€’ Assist with system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and migrations in alignment with business objectives.

β€’ Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical system outages or issues outside of regular business hours.

β€’ Maintains professional skills and stays informed of changes in the healthcare industry, regulations, vendor technology and impacts on assigned systems.

β€’ Utilize RIS’s ticketing system for documenting and troubleshooting, education, or work efforts.

β€’ Travel to various organization locations for training, device installation and set-up is required.

β€’ Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Health Information Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

β€’ 1+ years of experience in IT support, or a related role within a healthcare environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

β€’ Experience in PACS software, DICOM standards, and medical imaging technologies preferred.

β€’ Experience with IT troubleshooting.

β€’ Familiarity with healthcare regulations and data security standards.

β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

β€’ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

β€’ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.

Physical Requirements:

β€’ Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods

β€’ Normal hand eye coordination and manual dexterity

β€’ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

β€’ Ability to distinguish letters and symbols

β€’ Ability to respond quickly to sounds

β€’ Clarity of vision at close distances (20 inches or less) and far distances (20ft or more)
