Job Description:

Responsible for developing reporting from data acquisition through report development and delivery. Can also be responsible for complex components of large reporting platforms. Frequent client engagement at all levels is required as part of day-to-day work. Participates in client meetings to understand needs and occasionally is asked to contribute specialized knowledge. Leads smaller reporting projects or components of a larger effort. Little to no direct associate management. Expert at tools and process used to build reports end to end. Seen as having good working experience, knows data and business well. May have an area of expertise others look to for coaching and best practices.

A Senior Business Intelligence Engineer within Enterprise Data, Digital, and Marketing will enable leadership with data-driven decision-making solutions that drive company performance and objectives. You will be responsible implementing business intelligence solutions that inform the design, development, and delivery of the most effective digital solutions to drive engagement and business results. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and full execution of data automation processes. Creation of beautiful dashboards and insightful data self-service solutions.

To perform this work, you will be required to analyze disparate data sources and design/build data extract, transform, and load processes (ETL/Data Preparation). You will design and build relational data models to support development of actionable reports, dashboards, and scorecards. Β As such, the analyst must have strong communication skills and an ability to β€œtranslate” business and analytics requirements into technical specifications.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Interface with business stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Analyze disparate database sources, including relational structures, dimensional data models and cubes
  • Design, develop and maintain ETL/Data Preparation processes to store data in β€˜Fit for Use’ relational tables that provide data insight required for reporting and analytic enablement
  • Design, develop and maintain innovative dashboards, and scorecards using MicroStrategy (Strategy) Dashboards and Tableau
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, learn from each other, and inspire each other to be the best we can be

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing with architecture, design, development and implementation of automated data warehouse ETL processes
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing projects using Teradata and Hadoop
  • 5+ years of experience in MicroStrategy design, development, and implementation
  • Experience with data visualization, storytelling with data, and design of dashboards that drive actionable decisions,
  • Proficient in data discovery using SQL query language to analyze data relationships and data mapping from source data required to code for business logic
  • Expertise in Performance Tuning of Queries and ETL code design optimization
  • Experience in TERADATA Utilities: BTEQ, Fast load, Multiload, TPUMP and Fast export
  • JAMS/Autosys/Unix BASH Scripting or other scheduling tool experience
  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive SQL, Impala, Spark SQL, Python, LUNIX, & BASH Scripting
  • Experience in ETL Data Preparation Tools such as Alteryx
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services with emphasis on digital data analysis; specific experience with digital feature adoption, sales, and services
  • Experienced Microstrategy BI professional with proven track records of designing, developing and delivering large, complex enterprise Microstrategy Business Intelligence system solutions from end to end for large companies.
  • Full BI System Development Life Cycle (SDLC - Waterfall and Agile) experience including Business Requirements Gathering & Analysis, Data Analysis & Modeling, Solution Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, and Production Support
  • Hands-on technical experience and thorough knowledge of all capabilities of Microstrategy BI Suite as well as solid knowledge of other major BI/DW tools and technologies – Tableau, Teradata, Starburst, SQL Server, Alteryx, Hadoop, OLAP, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema/Snowflake), ETL Process, JAMS/Autosys
  • Excellent business communication, and presentation skills with a consultative approach to business challenges and client engagements
  • An excellent storyteller that understands business thought process and helps business to make intelligent business decision.
  • Strong relationship building, project and team leadership, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated can-do attitude and ability to work

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or an analytical field, or equivalent work experience

Pay range

$110,000.00 - $145,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
