Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Overview

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer collaborates with internal departments to develop reporting solutions that support key business processes by leveraging defined development policies, standards, and an advanced knowledge of data warehousing techniques. This position will help guide technical direction for the team, and provide expert-level mentorship to team members as a subject matter expert actively contributing to all aspects of development within the BI team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create innovative data and reporting solutions for complex problems leveraging an advanced understanding of data warehousing techniques and reporting solutions.
• Ensure all completed work follows best practices and team standards.
• Actively contribute expertise in agile development meetings and design sessions.
• Create, maintain, and champion documentation for solutions.
• Actively contribute to code reviews and coding standards.
• Support cross-functional teams that leverage and maintain the data warehouse and reporting solutions.
• Mentor team members in design, coding practices, and data warehouse development policies and guidelines.
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends and third-party tools.
• Comply with Solarity’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant business intelligence experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Advanced Experience with MS SQL Server, including SSRS, SSIS, and T-SQL, required.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with data warehousing techniques.
• Experience with Dundas BI preferred.
• Expert in troubleshooting principles and methodologies.
• Ability to effectively collaborate, communicate, and convey technical concepts to a variety of audiences with varying levels of technical understanding.
• Proven ability to efficiently learn and apply new ideas and concepts.
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to organize time and projects efficiently.
