Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst – Product Support to join our Cabin Electronics Product Group in Kirkland, WA.

The Cabin Electronics Product Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of in-seat power systems for the commercial airline industry. The group’s EmPower® product line provides a variety of scalable power solutions for aircraft passenger cabins and flight decks. The system is used by over 280 airlines, IFE suppliers, and all major aircraft OEM manufacturers worldwide.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs collection and analysis of structured and unstructured data to develop metrics, reports and visualizations of trends and patterns related to product health. Works with Engineering and Program Management to understand data and analysis needs. Identifies and captures data required from internal and external sources. Creates and maintains statistical models, as applicable, for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data. Produces data visualizations, tools and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of importance to support products in production and in-field.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection
- Manage complex datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting and data plotting tools.
- Lead the establishment of data metrics and reporting methods.
- Identify methods to improve efficiency or accessibility in acquiring data from varied sources.
- Lead the creation and improvement of processes and database-driven tools used on product sustaining projects.
Data Analysis
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in association with product health in both production and field installations.
- Identify trend influences to uncover insights and provide impactful recommendations related to product performance.
- Independently perform detailed analysis, statistical tests and draw conclusions.
- Determine and analyze metrics from data within available tools.
- As applicable, perform modeling and analysis of structured or unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports and visualizations of trends and patterns.
Reporting
- Applying advanced technical and analytic skills, utilize databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to optimally present trends on complex problems of impact to product performance.
- Coordinate directly with internal and external customers to understand needs and deliver presentations, graphs, infographics and/or reports to visualize and share data.
Tools/Process Improvement
- Create specifications and work instructions for reports and analysis based on business needs and available datasets.
- Develop and maintain tools, templates and dashboards to automate data processes, improving efficiency.
- Provide guidance to other team members on specific topics, processes improvements or creation.
- Participate in or lead internal teams to develop and improve processes, databases and inputs for collecting and conditioning product performance data for analysis.
Miscellaneous
- May lead or support cross functional teams to gather data or to report out on conclusions/recommendations generated from analytics.
- May lead cross functional teams in complex research and investigative projects or tool building.
- May perform administrative functions, such configuration management tasks, creation of regular departmental communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 5 or more years of direct experience in the essential responsibilities of the position.
- Aerospace industry experience highly desired.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, vLookup, macro generation). Ability to write queries and reports.
- Advanced skills with Python, Power BI, SQL or similar tools
- Understanding of Statistical Analysis tools, and usage of trends to drive business decisions
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

SALARY & BENEFITS
Senior Data Analyst base salary range is $79,293 - $118,940 per year. (Mid-point is $99,117).
Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.
