Financial Analyst

This is a hybrid position. Must be able to drive to Eugene, OR and Vancouver, WA regularly. 

Summary: 

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in shaping Oregon Ice Cream’s financial strategy and operational performance. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this individual will own key aspects of financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial modeling. This role will work cross-functionally with leaders across operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing to drive insights, optimize resources, and support data-driven decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Planning & Analysis 

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and manage rolling forecasts across departments.
  • Analyze trends in revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial performance packages for leadership review.
  • Provide timely variance analysis with actionable recommendations.

Financial Modeling & Reporting 

  • Develop dynamic financial models for business cases, pricing scenarios, and margin analysis.
  • Support long-range financial planning and profitability initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify areas for cost optimization and operational improvements.

Ad Hoc Analysis & Strategic Support 

  • Perform deep-dive analyses to support key business initiatives (e.g., new product launches, customer profitability, SKU rationalization).
  • Partner with sales and operations to evaluate demand planning and production forecasts.
  • Assist in developing board and investor presentations.

Data Mining & Systems 

  • Extract and analyze large datasets from ERP, BI tools, and Excel to uncover insights.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Contribute to ERP and BI tool upgrades or implementations.

 Key Projects & Deliverables 

  • Completion and rollout of annual operating budget.
  • Development of enhanced forecasting models using historical data and trend analysis.
  • Implementation of automated dashboards for financial KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Ad hoc ROI analysis on capital investments, trade spend, and marketing campaigns.
  • Financial support for strategic initiatives such as sustainability programs and capacity expansions.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in financial analysis or FP&A roles, preferably in CPG, manufacturing, or food & beverage.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cost structures, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.
  • Experience working in a mid-size or high-growth company.
  • Exposure to supply chain or manufacturing finance.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools.
