Financial Analyst

Overview

A large, globally diversified organization in the automotive retail sector is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial reporting and corporate accounting activities across multiple entities.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting cycles, audit support, technical accounting, and process improvement initiatives.

Occasional travel within Canada and the United States may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting working papers
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Maintain the corporate general ledger and ensure data integrity
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
  • Support financial consolidation and reporting requirements across multiple entities
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and note disclosures
  • Prepare audit schedules, coordinate requests, and respond to audit inquiries
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements
  • Assist with current and deferred tax provisions
  • Contribute to transfer pricing documentation and indirect tax considerations
  • Maintain and enhance chart of accounts and reporting structures
  • Support financial systems and reporting tools, including data extraction and analysis
  • Identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements
  • Help drive consistency across a multi-entity reporting environment

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation (required)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, or public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall technical skills
  • Experience working with large data sets and multiple financial systems
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and process improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in a multi-entity or complex reporting environment is an asset
  • Exposure to financial reporting tools (e.g., OneStream or similar systems) is an asset
