This position supports institutional Data Request processes by conducting advanced statistical and analytical research, with a primary focus on student and faculty data. The role applies established research methodologies, statistical techniques, and computing tools to analyze university data in support of planning, assessment, and decision‑making.
Leverages a strong understanding of institutional data systems and available data sources to inform strategic initiatives and respond to internal and external data needs.
Analyzes, validates, and interprets data to ensure findings are accurate, consistent, and meaningful. Develops high‑quality research reports and data products for stakeholders and university leadership, utilizing effective data visualizations—including tables, charts, and graphs—to clearly communicate results.
Demonstrates effective data management practices and proficiency with related tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Access, and other database or reporting systems). Provides analytical support for special projects and ad hoc data requests, collaborating with stakeholders to meet institutional priorities while managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Designs and delivers custom ad hoc reports to meet the needs of both internal and external audiences.
Compiles and prepares datasets in collaboration with systems programmers and technical staff, ensuring appropriate data structures and definitions are applied.
Reviews, processes, and fulfills data requests in accordance with data governance standards, ensuring the highest levels of data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality. Approves data sources and definitions, maintains thorough documentation, and conducts verification checks to ensure compliance and reliability of reported data.
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master’s degree in one of the same fields. Progressively responsible work experience may substitute for the college on a year for year basis.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
PREFERRED:
A Master's degree in higher education, social science, educational research, applied statistics or relevant discipline. At least three years of demonstrated high-level proficiency in applied statistical research and data analysis, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience with enrollment planning & management, modeling, forecasting. Knowledge of traditional functional areas in enrollment management.
Experience with predictive modeling. Creating, maintaining and analyzing operational and longitudinal reporting. High level technical skills and advanced practical experience in statistical data packages (SAS, SPSS, R), data analysis and data management (Excel) experience, database software packages (Access, Oracle), and SQL.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the university, particularly the ability to distill and convey research findings clearly and concisely to multiple audiences and stakeholders, as well as in appropriate forums (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities independently, frequently on tight deadlines, yet maintaining the highest standard of research and data quality. 2- 3 years of supervisory experience.
