The Business Intelligence Engineer II solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer II work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Where you Come In 

The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 for the Provider Data Integrity Team plays a vital role in developing and automating tools that enhance the management of provider data within the organization's systems. This position focuses on leveraging coding skills and automation technologies to streamline the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of raw data related to provider information. The engineer will create innovative solutions that transform data into actionable insights, informing decision-making processes related to provider data management. By implementing efficient tools and automated processes, the engineer will significantly enhance the team's productivity and the quality of provider data management.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and coding automated solutions to examine provider data within the system, identifying discrepancies, errors, and issues that may impact data integrity.

- Building and maintaining reports that provide insights into provider data quality and system performance, facilitating informed decision-making.

- Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot system issues or data errors, determining the best coding practices and solutions to resolve challenges effectively.

- Presenting findings and actionable insights to internal stakeholders, ensuring that complex information is communicated clearly and effectively to support data management initiatives.

- Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that advance the goals of the Provider Data Integrity Team, focusing on coding solutions that improve overall data integrity.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data management practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Required Qualifications – What it takes to Succeed 

  • Minimum of 2 years of Microsoft SQL Server and coding experience

  • Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • ETL experience (Extract, Transform & Load)

  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare systems knowledge

  • Experience working with Microsoft applications such as PowerBI, Power Automate, and Power Apps

  • Provider Data Knowledge

Work at Home Requirements

•            To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

·             At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

·             Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

·             Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

·             Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

·             Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
