Join The Energy Authority (TEA) as a Business Intelligence Engineer on our Business Insights team, where you’ll play a key role in designing, delivering, and maintaining powerful BI tools that fuel strategic growth.

In this role, you’ll help ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our BI environment while transforming raw data into visual stories and reports that guide business decisions. You’ll collaborate across departments, continuously improve data processes, and support the creation of a data-informed culture throughout TEA.

What You’ll Do:
Operational Management

  • Maintain and support BI reports, dashboards, and data delivery pipelines

  • Monitor data workflows and address quality issues proactively

  • Build and enhance ad-hoc reports and solutions to meet business needs

  • Ensure BI best practices are followed across all projects

Execution & Delivery

  • Deliver high-quality results on time with clear documentation and UAT processes

  • Provide hands-on training and support for end-users

  • Participate in solution reviews to ensure accuracy and long-term usability

Communication & Community Engagement

  • Document data processes, transformations, and standards thoroughly

  • Engage with the broader data community at TEAβ€”contributing to workshops, trainings, and solution reviews

  • Promote a culture of data transparency, accessibility, and shared accountability

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of experience in BI, data engineering, or analytics

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with tools like SSIS, SSAS (DAX), SSRS, and Power BI

  • Advanced proficiency with Databricks (Azure), including notebooks, workflows, and Delta Lake

  • Experience in Python, including APIs such as PySpark SQL and Pandas

  • Familiarity with Spark SQL, Git, and Azure DevOps

  • Strong ETL/ELT development skills and a solid understanding of Medallion or layered architecture models

  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to build aligned and impactful solutions

Required Tools & Skills:

  • T-SQL

  • 2–3+ years in Databricks (Azure)

  • 2–3+ years in Python (PySpark and Pandas)

  • Spark SQL, GIT, Azure DevOps
