Summary
McLarens is looking for a Technical Data Analyst to provide analytics and insights, deliver reporting and visualization outputs and be a business partner as a data and reporting expert.
To deliver high standard reports, engaging with Data Owners and Data Stewards and being part of the Data Governance Committee as and when required. Reporting delivery will be for both internal and external customers, but the engagement will be internal colleagues/stakeholders only.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- To enable the delivery of insights and analytics on internal performance for internal consumption or external reporting
- Deliver timely reports and dashboards as required using visualization tools. This is a combination of regular and ad-hoc MI returns to Clients, Regulators, and internal customers
- Responsible for monitoring requests that come into the Global Data & Analytics team and ensure requirements are gathered and delivered to in accordance with the global delivery process
- To be a technical point of contact as part of the Data & Analytics team to answer data and reporting related questions and queries
- To develop, support and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring that the data is available, and all jobs have been successful
- To support technical integrations
- Deliver in line with best practice; ensure all requirements and specification documents are delivered for visualization dashboards
- Collaborate globally with operational teams to deliver demoes and training for all new developments
- Identify reporting automation and efficiency opportunities and socialize/recommend accordingly
To support Data Governance Committee and Centre of Excellence
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Knowledge and experience of the Insurance Industry with a good understanding of the full Insurance lifecycle
- Agile experience – JIRA or similar tools is an advantage but not essential
- Power BI and/or other data visualization tools experience
- Must have great attention to detail

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Deliver all work items allocated during planning (based on estimates)
- Development of all reports and dashboards meet the minimum standards of best practice – this includes the process and documentation
- Ensure all requests/demand are responded to within 1 working day and allocated to an appropriate owned
- Delivery is within a reasonable threshold of initial estimate
Other Skills:
- Office infrastructure – working knowledge on conferencing equipment, alarm systems, access control, presentation systems.
- Strong interpersonal, client service, communication, and organizations and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and react appropriately in a crisis.
- Sufficient knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes and procedures to resolve most inquiries independently.
- The ability to effectively work and team with clients, management, and staff members.
- The ability to fully document processes and fixes.
Other Requirements:
- 35 working hours per week (1 hour is given for lunch)
- Flexible approach to hours. Core standard working hours can be agreed, but these must be flexible to cover Global time zones when needed
- Travel may be required as and when so flexibility is a must. Overtime may be required from time to time during projects and times of increased workload.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
